Our body and mind as a whole is a temple. The real question is, do we treat it that way?

In this blog I will share the important role that physical and mental health plays in all of our lives, yet we manage to ignore it. Like the other important things we do daily, we need to put our physical as well as mental health at the top of our priority list.

Physical Health:
It’s definitely easier said than done. But the feeling and energy level that exercise leaves us with at the end of the day, it’s incomparable to any other.

The reason many of us are not consistent with our routine is that we all look for instant results. We try to find a sudden magical change to appear in our physic in about a day or so of working out. We look in the mirror and whoosh there it is !… the abs that we are working on for a week ;)

Wish that could be so simple and effortless, but the reality is nothing in this world we do, will give us instant results, we need to keep on working on it for weeks, months maybe years. To achieve that goals we want , we have to give it all we have, starting from being consistent. I can easily say I’m pretty bad at it myself, but habits build up sooner than we realize they do. We just need to turn up every single day and give the best we can. That’s why it’s said..

I have recently started a routine of my own, I dedicate about just a little as 15–40 mins including exercise and walking with breaks. I did start working out several times in life but not being consistent got the better of me and every time I had to start all over again. But, it’s true that..

‘You never fail until you stop trying.’ — Albert Einstein

Also that’s when mental strength comes into the picture.

Mental Health :

For me being mentally healthy is equally important because just like what we feed our body, what we feed our brain is really crucial too.

A small experiment we all can try, decide to feed only and only positive thoughts to your brain for a week🧠, when you are talking to yourself in the bathroom about all the things you have already done, you are presently doing or you want to do in the future, just keep telling your mind ‘All is well ;)’ . Trust me I can personally guarantee you that with this one activity(of feeding positivity to your mind) you can see the impact it creates in your daily life. Just two positive words is all it takes !

So let’s remove the junk from our mental diet .Change the way we think and change the way we speak to ourselves.

Like we do exercises for our body, we can exercise our brain muscles too. It can be in any form I personally prefer activity that keep my mind occupied( not overthinking though ;)) for example playing chess , reading a tough book, learning a new language ,painting or maybe as simple and blissful as listening to music etc. So these are the activities that keep your mind active. What about activities that keep your mind calm, collected and focused . Deep breathing and just sitting in silence for a few minutes can help.

Mental health is a topic that people still are afraid to open and talk about. There is a societal stigma around it. Though there is a lot of progress in these areas and there are many mental health awareness programs held all around the world.

Yes, we all have to fight our own fights alone at the end of the day, but we should not forget that there are people who care and we should reach out to them.

Definitely mental health is not a small issue to touch upon, it has its depth.

But we need to remember that, the solution has always been within us.

Find your true self, spend time with yourself, discover your hidden treasures, work on yourself and then I believe that you can be your own therapist.
